How to Treat and Prevent Algae
What is algae?
Algae is a microscopic, single celled plant life that reproduces rapidly and can become chlorine and bromine resistant in swimming pools. Algae can be found floating in swimming pool waters, attach itself to pool walls, ladders, solar blankets and can also be trapped in the swimming pool filter.
I have algae in my swimming pool, what do I do?
Algae can be treated and removed in your swimming pool.
Follow the following steps to ensure that you correctly remove the algae in your swimming pool enviroment:

Remove solar blanket from pool and clean with CALYPSO FLASH 007 as algae can be reintroduced to the pool from the cover.

Remove all organic debris (leaves etc.) from bottom of the pool by leaf rake or vacuum.

Brush pool walls, floor, steps and ladder to loosen algae from surface.

Add the CORRECT KIT to your swimming pool (follow directions enclosed in your CORRECT KIT (use KLEAR SOK included in sand filter only.

Next day backwash sand filter.

Clean sand (or cartridge) filter using CALYPSO PURE.

Bring pool water sample to Aquatica pools for water balance assistance.
How can I prevent algae in my swimming pool?
Algae is preventable in your swimming pool by following a maintenance program and balancing your pool water on a regular basis. It cost far more to cure an algae problem in your swimming pool than it does to prevent one.
